If I had to say what I gained from Tomatis, it would be that I feel an increased sense of freedom, balance, aliveness, energy and trust in my life. Life is less frightening. My eyes and ears have opened to ll the beauty and support that has always been there. I can better acknowledge it and take it in. My life feels more peaceful and I feel a part of the great mystery that is unfolding. The Tomatis program helped me to see myself as an intelligent and capable person. I am more willing to take risks that in the past would have been devastating and debilitating to me.

It wasn’t always this way. In March, 1996, when I first walked through these doors I was isolated and desperate, not sure that anyone or anything would be able to help me…

My Eustachian tubes were swollen and plugged making the world far away place. I was used to not hearing through my left ear – a birth defect had prevented normal development – but I couldn’t hear from my right ear either. It felt like a giant bubble of cotton batting….

Laurna’s Story - My Healings from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

In the spring of 1988 I caught a virus that was being identified as ‘Asian Flu’. Until that time, in my adult life , it was very unusual for met o feel so ill that I would remain in bed, even for a day. For three weeks, I suffered such extreme vertigo, among other symptoms, that I remained in bed, and sometimes needed assistance navigating the stairs on the way to the bathroom…I did not recover…in 1994..new doctor diagnosed my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

With no expectations whatsoever, I undertook a listening program…at first, I did not notice anything in particular. Then one day, very suddenly, I felt as though someone had thrown a switch somewhere in my head. My former sense of normal energy retuned instantly. I was amazed, delighted, an puzzled.

In the weeks and months that followed my energy remained high, my immune system regained normal function, and my mental processes remained clear….
